Donations
Keep Us Going
|
Caring for horses is an incredibly rewarding experience but it’s also financially demanding. The costs of caring for more than 100 horses a year is staggering. As a non-profit
organization, the Rescue relies entirely on private donations to operate. There are several ways you can help, including making a
tax-deductible financial contribution, donating materials or volunteering your time and expertise to the Rescue.

 |
Monetary Contributions
Monetary is the quickest, most direct way to help the Rescue. Financial donations cover the costs of saving horses at killer auctions and the costs of caring for them and the other animals at the Rescue. Monetary gifts pay for feed and hay, medical and farrier care, property maintenance, even keeping the lights on.
Donations raised also benefit the Rescue’s Slaughter/Rescue Fund* or the Humane Euthanasia Fund** (see footnote).
The Rescue is grateful for donations of any amount, from individuals, families, groups or businesses. Donations to the Rescue,
a 501(c)3 non-profit, are tax-deductible.

General Supplies
Donations of supplies and materials needed for daily farm operations and horse care to the Rescue save us a tremendous amount of money and allow us to use those funds to support ongoing rescue efforts. If you can help with donation of supplies, please see our
Wish List.
Horse/Animal Donations
Sometimes, a horse owner decides it’s time to send a horse “down the road,” horse-speak for transferring ownership of the horse to someone else. Any number of reasons can cause an owner to reach this decision, from economic, to the horse not meeting the owner’s needs, to simple loss of interest. Usually, a horse that isn’t right for one person is perfect for someone else; for example, a thoroughbred that isn’t fast enough to win races might make a fantastic hunter/jumper. We welcome the opportunity to help horses find new homes and new careers by offering a humane alternative to horse owners needing to place an unwanted horse. Donation Form.
Volunteering
The Rescue is operated by a fulltime director and a group of dedicated volunteers, with room in the ranks for more. Doing chores around the barn is one of the most appreciated ways a person can donate the gift of time, and it’s a great way to get hands-on experience caring for horses. Other volunteer opportunities include clerical assistance, special events planning, fund-raising, outreach programs, foster care, training and IT support.
