Freedom was selected to represent Omega Horse Rescue in the RESCUED TO STARDOM at the Pennsylvania Horse Expo.

omegaName: TUCAN
Breed: Standardbred
Sex: Gelding
Height: 16.2
Rider Level:

"Tucan" is one of our most recent rescues, he is a big boy (16:2 hands) stb gelding who was dumped for slaughter when he could no longer do long trips pulling a buggy on the road, he has a sad but interesting story, this horse raced his heart out, winning almost $200k, his racing name was ucanbcallmebutch, we really did not like that name so his new barn name is Tucan. Its so sad to see these racing heros, running their hearts out, then sold to be a road horse for the Amish and then dumped for slaughter once that job is over. These horses deserve better dont you think. Today when we started grooming him he just stood there looking like, wow your being nice to me. Tucan is very underweight and could really use a sponsor to help cover some of his rehab costs. Please message me if you would be interested in being a sponsor, which will allow us to get him the kind of feed that he needs, good qualtiy hay, a tube of safeguard and his feet need done. Wait until you see him in the next few months, he will look like a difffernt horse inside and out.

omegaName: DALLAS
Breed: Quarter Horse
Sex: Gelding
Height: 15.2
Rider Level:

"Dallas" is a stunning 15:2 hand stocky QH type gelding who is reported to be as child and beginner safe as you can find, he has a very loving personality and a fantastic dispostion. Dallas has limited vision in his right eye but it certainly does not cause him any issues, once the weather is a bit better he will be leaving for a complete riding evaluation, however we have seen photos of him with children riding him and he has taught beginner lessons. Dallas will be looking for his forever family. Just imagine if Santa brought you a present as nice as him.

lifesgoodWe Have Saved Hundreds of Horses

Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center has placed more than 1,300 horses. We are not limited to one breed, and will help horses of all breeds, ponies, donkeys and mules for placement into new loving homes.

Regardless of how they arrive at Omega, by way of neglect, auction or donation, our mission remains clear and constant: Educate horse owners on the true responsibilities involved in equine care; legislate the humane treatment of horses everywhere; and find appropriate homes for unwanted, abused or neglected equines.
